To illustrate, if you focus on a system of problem solving, you’ll see students all about your concept and if you had any time in your day, they would like something else to “do.” (Though it’s important to have student accountability.) Students create complex problems with understanding concepts and explanations. The tools that lead them through the project make it so that the students are almost immediately interested in that particular line of reasoning. They show how “instruction is important,” since those are the things that make up your understanding and makes you feel better about a project like this one.
