I will review the proposed program, outline the research plans, and outline some open questions. For the purposes of this discussion I have chosen to write my proposal on an open-ended type of task, rather than a set of enumerated “proper” tasks. The Problem Statement My problem statement addresses one of the most important issues I run into when developing a professional development plan: Components to comprise a project. I set out the structure of the problem to focus on (i) the elements, operations, and planning elements (including, but not limited to, organizational design with proper organizational principles); (ii) the components (of which the task consists), as well as the functions associated with the tasks; (iii) the manner in which the teams work; (iv) the particular kind of project, particular domain … and the types of individual tasks that can be pursued in a framework that is both professional- and problem-based. 1: A project is the product of a number of pieces (that are the product of the system of parts to which the project is put in conjunction). The tasks, or component parts, are the formalization of components designed for the project. The concept that makes work within the organization of the project applicable to any given task has important similarities to work in standard problem-oriented development. I organize the work.
