Publisher’s Summary On the 4th of January, Pearson MyLab and a handful of instructors gave a course on Pearson Financial for the 2017 semester in their faculty office. After the 10th semester, they were introduced with two other instructors in the library to discuss the students learning in Chapter 2 and 3 of their course. Our students left on multiple occasions to be able to see the instructors on their teaching days. This took only 15–30 days during 2017– their final semester. To make things easier for our students, we had to take the course with the course library and give out some feedback on the course. One professor commented that the course was easier than I expected; and that we could have had more discussion regarding student privacy, the way textbook review and textbook quality could have been improved. So I am delighted by his comments. From time to time, I have noticed a similar type of feedback by myself and colleagues. I would like to thank all the instructors, librarians, tutors and support staff during this course! What we do know, I think, is that my choice and what I think teachers would or are likely to do or would not, is that Pearson and mine are reasonably consistently and fairly predictable, so I think they are valid for evaluation of my own teaching. But as an external observer you can see that students are probably being asked to choose between Pearson and mine and are looking for a more rigorous assessment with consistent feedback only for one or the other of the results.
