How does Pearson MyLab Hospitality support the development of strategic planning and decision-making skills for hospitality students? Does improving skills mean you offer unique learning opportunities? Our study, commissioned by The University of Auckland’s School of Business, covers a broad range of interdisciplinary design and implementation studies in hospitality areas. From a study in San Francisco to university culture at university, we believe our findings can enrich communities, inform stakeholders and inspire public policy makers to establish innovative learning assets that improve hospitality education for guest-delivery, as well as improve the environment for hospitality staff. To further our understanding, the City of Auckland is a professional student property with the highest proportion of students offering hospitality education each week and the highest contribution to student success. As the City plans to expand it will create further partnerships with schools and universities to directly share knowledge and staff training with their students through this asset. Because of the increased commitment, experience and enthusiasm of our students to participate in educational activities, participation and engagement we have invested a very high stakes investment in the development of a fully functional community hospital at Pearson MyLab. Our new role at both the university and myself is to join the faculty and the University of Sydney’s Department Stores to provide high quality training for all trainees. We also have a dedicated Senior Principal that supports us at Pearson-mylab.com since 2018, and also help train our new colleagues and leadership of the schools. Additionally, we have active contacts in and around major city and county Health Authorities Office. This role will be essential from a non-medical standpoint because there will need to be no non-medical transfer and therefore it is incredibly difficult to start working with the new role that is required from a medical/epidemiological standpoint. As a team, we will work over the holiday period to carry out what was dubbed as an integrated ‘post up’ programme to deal with all the pressing questions of the future and to ensure that both the hospital and the trainees fit the learning and vision that must guide learning at our facility.
